The food was so delicious!! The server was great. My husband and I both asked staff at different times during our visit to Thank the cook for us because the food was that delicious, that was a first for us. Recommend you make a trip to Holbrook, AZ.
Read recent reviews and took a chance. Super impressed. Food was great salsa had a good heat soppapillas delicious. Portion size not large but getting dessert included with the combo meal was well worth it. If you are visiting Flagstaff area or Petrified Forest come this way for Mexican food. Do yourself a favor ignore the bad reviews and go try it for yourself.
El Rancho was recommended by a local person that I spoke to in the Safeway supermarket. This is where he said we should go for good Mexican food and he was 100% right! Got the steak and chicken fajitas and the rolled tacos--both were absolutely fantastic! The rolled tacos were stuffed with shredded beef not just a little, I could only eat two of the three and gave the other one to my friend. She ordered the fajitas. She ate that for lunch and had so much food that we shared what was left for dinner. The flavor was exceptional. I got some of their hot sauce on the side and it was so flavorful. It had a little heat but not a lot... It was just right. The beans were so well seasoned and tasted great. I would definitely recommend El Rancho and I would go back again in a heartbeat. Amazing food and service. We got a stuffed sopapilla (with red and green chili sauce), green chili cheese crisp, and a tamale. We also got regular sopapillas with honey (amazing!). Their prickly pear margarita was great too. It's definitely worth the stop.
Hands down one of the best if not the best shredded beef chimi in AZ. Green chili sauce definitely homemade with lots of green chilis. It was spicier than the red sauce. I didn't have much of an appetite but I completely wolfed this whole chimi down it was so good. Oh and the fried ice cream was the best too. They use a fried cinnamon sugar tortilla bowl that was flakey and fit perfectly with bites of ice cream. Lovely low key local diner with full bar. If we ever come through Holbrook again we will be stopping here.
The best place i have eaten. A new favorite place for me to eat at. Service was excellent, clean restaurant, friendly staff. Salsa and chips is amazing. Price of the food is reasonable. Loved it
Fabulous food, very kind, friendly and attentive waitress. I had the shredded beef burrito with the chef made green chili salsa. So delicious and more than ample portions. My wife had chicken enchiladas. Chips and salsa, a wonderful first impression. Everything tastes as good as it looks!
Great place to stop if you're craving good Mexican- American food. Chips and hot salsa on arrival. The cheese crisp was my favorite located right off of I-40.
